Faroe Islands photo tour
Discover the Faroe Islands with Michiel Pieters and Derek Malou
Endless fjords, cozy villages, waterfalls and more sheep than you can count: discover the breathtaking beauty of the Faroe Islands together with Michiel Pieters and Derek Malou on an intimate photography tour in September. The small archipelago still is an unknown and undiscovered gem, far from the tourbusses filled with tourists you’ll encounter in Iceland and other Nordic countries.
After a combined 12 visits, over a period of 8 years, it’s safe to say we know the islands like the back of our hands. And based on this knowledge we’ve curated a photography tour specifically designed for photographers who love the outdoors. Your skill level is not important, this photo tour is built for beginners as well as for seasoned professionals. Together we’ll explore the best locations in the optimal conditions September has to offer.
Sept 5 - Sept 10, 2025
September in the Faroe Islands is a time when the islands really are the most beautiful in terms of color, light and shade as they begin to settle into a cosy, autumnal rhythm. The crisp air carries the scent of the ocean, and the landscapes start to glow with warm, earthy tones. While the days grow shorter, there’s still plenty of daylight to explore.
Learn, share
This isn’t just another tour: it’s a chance to spend time with like-minded, motivated photographers who are eager to share, learn, and grow together. We’ll wake up early for sunrises, immerse ourselves in the raw beauty of the islands, and capture some truly magical moments. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to exchange ideas, discuss gear, and swap editing tips with fellow photographers, all while growing together under our guidance
Experience
From the moment you arrive, we’ll take care of everything from A to Z so you can focus entirely on capturing stunning images. We will guide you through the Faroe Islands, showing you not only the iconic landscapes but also the hidden gems that most visitors never get to experience.
We’ll plan each day carefully, making sure you explore each spot in the best light and conditions.

Most of the spots we’ll visit are easily accessible, with just a bit of walking required to reach them. Some locations may involve easy to mild hikes, but nothing too challenging or strenuous. While you should be prepared to walk a little bit to explore these stunning landscapes, the hikes are all manageable and suitable for most fitness levels.
